HI!
So basically, here we are. These are the rules. There's not many, honestly, and they're pretty basic. Pretty much just your average set of board rules. I know, I know. These things are a bitch to read, especially the long ones that could really just be put into a list. I'm sowwy it seems long, but I promise it'll be over soon!
Our first rule is your basic, no one liners. If you're surprised to see that here, you've obviously never RPed before. Either that, or you've just never read the rules. Anyways, one liners are icky when you're RPing, and they really get on people's nerves 'cause it's hard to reply to something like 'Jack had a headache so he went home and sat down on the couch and saw Sally on the couch.' All we ask of you is two paragraphs. They don't even have to be that long.
Also, please try and use proper grammer and spelling. I know not everyone has a huge vocabulary, and we're not all fantastic spellers, but there is a spell check button that is very pretty and shiny and fun to click. It takes about half a minute to click it and fix the spelling errors.
As far as applications go, please try and wait until it's been accepted to start applying for in character stuff and posting. Odds are you'll be accepted by the end of the day, usually within a few hours of posting your application. It's a rare case that you have to wait longer than twenty-four hours.
If you have a canon, please try and act like it. We don't really like it when someone takes a main canon and completely transforms their personality, you know? It'd be like someone applying for Harry on a Harry Potter RPG and deciding that he was going to join Voldemort and kill all the mudbloods and muggles.
As far as relationships go, there are a certain number of ex-boyfriends/girlfriends allowed. This goes for original and canon characters, unless something else has been previously agreed upon with a staff member. Basically, just cut your character's age into quarters. Any more ex-boyfriends/girlfriends than one quarter is too much.
When you have two female characters, you must have a male before you make another female. It just helps keep things even, you know? It's weird to have a bunch of girls running around and like, three guys. =P
Please try and be realistic with Role Playing. If your character shows up at some other character's house that they've never met before and all of a sudden they're having a nice NC17 rated shower together, it's not exactly realistic, is it? Nope.
You need to get permission before getting your character pregnant or married. We can't have everyone running around pregnant and engaged at eighteen, you know? It's really unrealistic and you need to take into consideration your character's personality before running off and deciding they're pregnant/engaged. Also, decide if you really feel like RPing your character as pregnant for the next few months. You can't just get your character pregnant and pop out the kid the next day. You're going to need to wait for nine site months to pass. If you don't want to commit to that, you could post in the board that's for just that: RPing things that have already happened, things that are yet to happen, things that aren't going to happen, et cetera, without having it affect your character in any way. Fuck that was long. haha. Sorry. =P
We hate Mary and Stu. We'd like to burn them at the stake. They're icky and annoying and make us go grr. So no Mary's and no Stu's, kay? Save us the torture. :]
Please respect our members. This means that you should please try and refrain from being disrespectful, prejudice, racist, blablabla. I'm going to feel like a shrink by saying this, but this is a safe space and we make love not war here. =P This also applies to the staff of the site. We worked really hard to make the site for you guys and we want you to treat us nicely 'cause we give out cookies. :]
In your application, please tell us your favorite cookie. 'Cause we love cookies a lot. Yup. We do. The end of the rules is coming....Can you see it yet?! Here, have a cookie for reading this far.
Please don't steal anything from the site. Again, we worked really hard and we would love it if you played nice with us and didn't rip us off. This goes for plot lists too, which I know are a pain in the ass to make.
If you've made plans to disapoof for a while, post in the Leaving or Returning board so we know not to take away your character if it's a canon. It takes like, two seconds and it's fun to talk about yourself and how much you love us and will miss us while you're gone. :]
